My love for the beautiful game is founded in family. Most of my family is from South Africa and still lives there. I'll never forget visiting my cousins in Cape Town and watching Premier League together. Growing up in New Jersey, I often got invited by friends with season tickets to enjoy Red Bull games including the Beckham game and getting to watch Thierry Henry. Another of the most special games I've attended, was when I had the pleasure of getting to watch Messi and Neymar (not to mention all the other stars involved) in an Argentina vs Brazil match at The MetLife Stadium in 2012. Neymar scored early in this match to tie up the score at 1-1 and Messi had a hat-trick including this STUNNER.

Needless to say, this was an iconic game to have seen in my life, having never been to a world cup.

I became an NYCFC fan in the year before it's inaugural season when my friend's father, a fellow South African and lifelong Manchester City fan, approached me about getting season tickets for the club. I immediately jumped on the opportunity to join a group of 8 of us, who still sit together today in section 110!
