Major League Soccer has announced their finalists for their numerous end of season awards today. FC Dallas' own Jesus Ferreira was named as one of the three finalists for the 2022 "Young Player of the Year" award. He now competes with Brenner of FC Cincinnati and Thiago Almada of Atlanta United. Brenner ended the regular season with 18 goals and 6 assists in 29 games. (https://www.fccincinnati.com/players/brenner/stats/)

Almada ended the regular season with 6 goals and 12 assists in 29 goals. It's also worth noting this is his first season with Atlanta. (https://www.atlutd.com/players/thiago-almada/stats/)

Ferreira was a key part of FC Dallas' success this season. In 33 games, he scored 18 goals, which ties him with Jason Kreis and Kenny Cooper for the most goals scored by a Dallas player in a single season (*This record is for goals scored during the regular season, playoff goals won't count). In addition to goals, Ferreira also had the second most assists for Dallas this season with 6. Paul Arriola and Alan Velasco are tied for first with 7. He played in all but one of Dallas' 34 games this season. (https://www.fcdallas.com/stats/#season=2022&competition=mls-regular-season&statType=general&position=all)

Ferreira has had an MVP type season for the club this year. His performances earned him numerous call-ups to the USMNT and he could be part of the roster that travels to Qatar for this winter's World Cup. Even if he doesn't win the award, he's had a great season!
