Hey everybody! I'm Henry, I'll be covering NY Red Bulls for MLS Now, and I hope to talk and connect with people who share the same passion I do for this great league. I'm young and still a high-school student, but this is my 8th season closely following MLS, and I've been hooked thinking and writing about soccer ever since a friend invited me over in 2014 to watch Brazil vs Croatia, in this thing I'd never heard of before called a World Cup.
Since then it's been great, I've supported my local team the Red Bulls for a while now, experiencing the highs and considerably more lows that come with that. In European soccer, I support Atalanta from Serie A, which I've been doing now before they were good, so I feel pretty nice about that investment.
MLS is what keeps me going through good and tough times, giving me something to look forward to every weekend, and I'm sure every fan can attest to that. I was raised on my personal hero Matt Doyle's Armchair Analysts twice a week, giving me a role model in journalism, and from 2017-2018 I ran a soccer website with my friends where we'd write tons of articles and even produce our own talk shows!
Some personal highlights for me in the world of soccer include happening to meet Zlatan Ibrahimovic who was staying in my hotel, only for my phone to shut off, depriving me of a picture with him. 10 minutes later I was stuck in an elevator with Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Jonathan Dos Santos, not exactly sure how to strike up a conversation with them.
But the journey ahead for this league and the media that surrounds it looks good, and I'm so excited to be a part of it!
