Heartbreak in Columbus as Seattle Scores Two Late Goals To Secure All Three Points

Columbus played arguably their best game of their current losing streak Saturday Night. And it was almost enough to take down the red hot Seattle Sounders. But two goals in less than two minutes for Seattle stunned Lower.com Field as Columbus dropped their sixth straight match.

Takeaways

Columbus Did Not Deserve To Lose

Columbus played well for the first 80 minutes of the game. It was the last 10 minutes that they lost focus, which was their ultimate demise. With that being said, it was a game that Columbus had in their grasp, and ultimately should have left Lower.com Field with at least a point.

Defensively Much More Sound

Columbus played much better defensively. Jonathan Mensah and company turned away pretty much everything that came their way. It's the offensive side of the ball that the Crew are currently struggling with.

Bradley Wright-Phillips Gets His First Crew Goal

BWP got his first Columbus goal against Seattle. It is something, especially with the absence of Gyasi Zardes. Columbus will hope that Wright-Phillips can fill the goalscoring that Gyasi leaves, and help take the burden off of Lucas Zelerayan to create everything offensively.

Columbus returns to the pitch Friday night as they welcome their Ohio rivals FC Cincinnati to Lower.com Field. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
