Columbus Looks To End Their Three-Match Losing Skid As They Travel To Chicago Sunday Evening

Columbus has not been the team people have expected them to be as of late, especially the last three matches. Columbus will once again look to rebound against a Chicago team that has seemed to found some sort of form over the last couple of matches.

Chicago is coming off a 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls last weekend, including unbeaten in their last three matches, while Columbus is coming off a 3-2 loss to Atlanta United amid a three match losing streak.

Keys To The Match

Get Off To A Fast Start

Columbus needs to score the first goal Sunday evening. They are a much better team when they play from in front rather than having to play catch-up and play from behind. The defense also needs to have a much better game, and that all starts with club captain Jonathan Mensah. The Crew do hope to get back center back Vito Wormgoor for this match.

Depth Will Again Be Tested

Columbus enters this match with a total of seven players out due to injury, so the depth of this team will once again be tested, though they have been tested all season. Columbus will especially miss the versatile Marlon Hairston, who misses through a slight knock picked up against D.C United last weekend. Columbus has struggled as a team as o late, so they will look to right the ship and correct the mistakes.

Prediction

Columbus is in desperation mode right now, whether Caleb Porter wants to admit it or not. Columbus needs to win this game to boost confidence and morale, and I think they do just that. Columbus leaves Soldier Field and Chicago with all three points, and a 1-0 victory.
