The Columbus Crew got their first win in their new white/grey kits, as well as their first win in their new stadium, Lower.com Field. On a night the Columbus Crew and the Columbus community mourn the death of Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks, which the Crew supporter section the Nordecke would make a TIFO for.

Takeaways
Eloy Room Was Sensational
Eloy Room made a season-high six saves in this match. And every single save was needed. The Crew goalkeeper stood on his head for stretches of the match that kept the Crew in the game, and ultimately helped them walk out of Lower.com Field with all 3 points. If Eloy Room can keep putting in performances like Saturday night, the Crew will be a very tough team to beat.
Darlington Nagbe Controlled The Midfield
This might have been one of the best performances from the Crew number six. And he was able to cap it off with his third goal in a Columbus shirt. It seemed like whenever New York City would keep possession in the Crew defensive third that Nagbe was there to break up the attack. Nagbe was able to provide the much needed cover for the back line that had been missing in past games.
Lucas Zelerayan Is Special
What is is to be said about Lucas. He has set the new record for set piece goals in a Crew uniform, and the season is not even halfway over yet. He was able to put the game winner in from about 20 yards out in the same fashion he won the game at NYCFC earlier in the season: from a dead ball situation. Lucas Zelerayan has to be in the MLS MVP conversation at the moment, as he is leading the defending Champions!
Whats Next
The Columbus Crew will finish off there two game homestand Wednesday Night when Nashville SC comes to Lower.com Field for the first time. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
