Atlanta United Given Ultimatum.

Reports out of Atlanta United are raising eyebrows around the league. Maybe it is the unacceptable 2020 season performance or the owner's NFL franchise hiding out in the free agent market, but there are rumors of an ultimatum delivered to the Five Stripes' front office. The good news is the directive comes with a "Blank" check that reinforces a mandate to enhance the player pool as soon as possible. The reports also include a list of players with a potential to be sold including Josef Martinez, who is coming off season-ending knee surgery and a long recovery. Parties with knowledge are reporting that the Five Stripes are in negotiations with many agents around the world, with an emphasis to add a world class striker and reinforce a very young back line. Names mentioned are Lazio's Ciro Immobile and Liverpool's Roberto Firmino. Defenders on the target list include Thiago Silva from Chelsea and Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld. United's new manager, Gabriel Heinze, is reportedly very concerned about the lack of on-field leadership with rumors surrounding discussions with former captain Michael Parkhurst. A lot going on with Atlanta United - more information as it becomes more clear.

There is a lot happening in and outside the sporting world including World Cup qualifiers, the men's Olympic team failing to qualify, the start of the CCL next week, opening day for baseball, the Final Four, and the Masters. There is also April Fools' Day. Enjoy. www.justmytake.net
