FC Dallas' Alan Velasco was called-up to Argentina's senior men's national team. Velasco will be joining two other MLS players, Lionel Messi of Inter Miami and Thiago Almada of Atlanta United, in representing the recent men's World Cup champions. Velasco has had an up-and-down season with FC Dallas this year. His form began to change for the better though after Dallas' League Cup match against Inter Miami. Dallas lost against Miami in penalties after a thrilling 4-4 scoreline in regular time. In the match he scored from a free-kick

Velasco has played for Argentina's youth teams before. He played for Argentina's U-17 team in the U-17 World Cup. Thoughts-
This call-up could help boost Velasco's confidence and help FC Dallas in the long run. Velasco has the potential to be a game changer for Dallas. At the moment, Dallas has relied too much on Jesus Ferreira. Dallas needs another player to step up and lead the attack. Velasco has shown some moments of brilliance and perhaps training (and maybe playing) alongside Lionel Messi could help him with his career in Dallas.
